You look a lot like....

Daddy  & Mommy
Who do you think I look like?

Mommy thinks I have daddy's eyes and his "big bonedness". She also says I have her nose, mouth and deep philtrum. You can for sure see I am a little chubby monster just like they both were. No one knows for sure just who I'll look like more as I get older but it doesn't matter anyway because I'm going to be such a HAM.

Tuesday, it's time for a bath!

I don't mind taking baths.....

I just get a little fussy when it comes to the grooming....

enough with the pictures mom!

I'm Ready

July 5th at 3:30pm we sat in the doctor's office and I was full of nerves. My last doctor's visit I found out I was not dilating at all and worry about having to have a caesarean started to set in. I had hoped and prayed that just maybe at this visit we would have a little action going on down below but of course I was only a half a cementer which was progress but wasn't at all the news I was hoping for. After our appointment we headed off to Red Lobster because I needed to be cheered up big time after such a disappointing visit, little did I know it would be my last "real" meal because AJ had other plans for us!

July 6 at 1:25am or so I was in bed Alonso on his computer we were discussing his birthday and when we thought AJ might be born and both agreed maybe the weekend. Alonso reminded me to put a towel underneath me before I go to sleep. As I did I began to talk to AJ asking him when was he coming and how excited we were to see him than Alonso jokingly played Alicia keys "I'm Ready" song for him. As I laid my head down I felt something.... wait it couldn't be, maybe I just peed on myself because hey it wasn't the first time since being in my third trimester?! I called out to Alonso and once I stood up yup there it goes running down my leg onto the floor and I knew my water had just broke! It was sort of like a movie where we were in a panic at first I stood there and forgot everything I was told to do by my doctor once my water had broken and Alonso was on the phone with a friend asking him what to do next but then a moment of laughter followed. I hoped in the shower as he packed up the car and we were off.

July 6 at about 3:00am we were checked in and I was all hooked up and ready to go. My first IV was a bit painful especially after my nurse decided she wanted to try a second time. With no contractions just yet she then told me she was going to start my pitocin drip and that's when fear started to kick in. She walked out turned off the lights and said "get plenty of rest because your going to need it"?! Rest?! How am I going to get rest when I knew what I wanted to bad to feel was happening NOW, I'm having a baby?! Oh no what's this... a contraction! I must have squeezed Alonso's hand so hard I knew he wasn't expecting this I mean I had no idea how to handle a contracting after all we said we would "wing it", boy do I wish we went to a class or two. With water still flowing and god knows what else the pain intensified so all thoughts of trying to go natural went out the window. Once I was 4 cementer in Alonso quickly made the call for an epidural, little did I know I would have to wait hours until I received it! At 9:15am I was given my drug of choice and I'm sure Alonso was just as happy as I was because he could finally rest his hands. With my Mom and Andrea arriving that afternoon we finally both could rest our eyes... and of course Daddy went to sleep before I did.

July 6 at about 10:00am I was awoken out of my 45 minute sleep to find myself throwing up.... As the nurse comes in to check on me she sees AJ's heart rate is slowly dropping?! She then puts me on oxygen and in my head although she said it was common I'm thinking what's happening to me?!!! At 1:30pm my Mom and Andrea arrive. I tired to get rest as much as I could seeing as though Alonso and my Mom were able to sleep their little hearts away but because I kept throwing up it was hard to find peace with what I was going through. My doctor came in and checked me and said things were looking better although I was not ready to push as I was only 8 centimeters. With my lower body feeling numb I truly couldn't feel my legs the nurse realizes I did not have a catheter, yet another tube being put into my body and honestly I couldn't even feel it going in all I know is there was a pressure that was no longer there. As the sun started to set and what felt like my epidural starting to wear off I began feeling stronger contractions and that's when I was told it's show time!

July 6 at 6:00pm the pushing began and I had no idea what I was in for. With my Mom and Alonso holding my legs I began to push! Now if you haven't had kids just image being on a toilet and being constipated see I didn't know I'd be pushing from my back area?! I thought something completely different but maybe if I took my tail to a class I would have found out but I digress..... With all that was going on around me I felt like I wasn't even in the delivery room. I was drugged yet still feeling pain, I may have fallen asleep for a few seconds and I don't remember much about anything that was being said by the nurses or the doctor. Just a lot of talking about dance, sisters, pushing... the doctor even brought in another nurse because she said she had never seen a first time mom push so well so soon but little did she know I was trying to get this over and done with because the pain was a 1,000,000,000/10 no really! About half way in I saw his head... there he was... my AJ. I felt him... it was so unreal! more pushes, blood, a snip and much much more on July 6, 2011 at 6:56pm Alonso Nunez Jr had arrived!

I do apologize if this was at all to graphic for some but childbirth isn't pretty at all and I would do it all over again! It is so true that once you hold your baby in your arms everything that lead up to that moment is all but a mere dream. I never thought in a million years I would take to motherhood so well but AJ is my life and one of if not the GREATEST accomplishment of my life. I'm in love and this feeling will never ever go away!
